I first met the birdwatcher as she climbed over astyle someway from the house we were staying at.She seemed startled to see me – as if I shouldn’thave been there.

Maybe I shouldn’t have.
Whistling for Owls was the debut book from Max and his imprint Oval Press.  It is a meandering story and his first book length investigation into the relationships between text and image. And literature and photography. Coming from a place of truth Whistling  for Owls hovers between France and London; memory and imagination; truth and lies.
